Description
High Carbon Low Sulfur Graphitized Petroleum Coke (GPC) is a carbonaceous material derived from petroleum oil refinery coker units or other cracking processes. It has a high carbon content of over 98% and low sulfur content, typically less than 0.05%.
The GPC is processed to remove impurities and then heated to high temperatures (above 2,800°C) in a graphitization furnace, which transforms the amorphous carbon structure into a crystalline structure. This process increases the electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity of the material, making it useful for a variety of applications such as the production of steel and aluminum, as well as in the production of electrodes for electric arc furnaces.
Graphitized Petroleum Coke is also used as a raw material in the production of electrodes for Lithium-ion batteries, which are used in various applications such as electric vehicles, mobile phones, laptops, and many other electronic devices.
